Lack of sleep can affect us all at one point in our life. And although there might be some obvious reasons why you are having a bad night’s kip (poor mattress or stress at work), for some people they don’t know why they are wide away in the night. And they struggle to find ways to ensure they do get plenty of rest. Here are some not-so-obvious ways you can ensure you get plenty of sleep tonight.
Write a diary
A lot of us struggle to get to sleep as we are thinking about what’s concerning us. It might be relationship woes or stress at work which causes us to stay wide awake at night. And while you are stressed out, you will struggle to rest and slip into a peaceful slumber. Therefore, before you go to bed, you should write a diary explaining your feelings. Talk about everything that is bothering you and what you plan to do about it the next day.

Regulate your hormones

In fact, the nicotine is a stimulant, so you are likely to be wide awake if you have one before going to bed. Therefore, try and cut this habit out of your life to ensure you get plenty of sleep tonight.
Have a glass of milk
We all know that giving a child a cup of milk before bed can send them off to the land of nod quickly. Therefore, copy this for yourself by drinking milk before going to bed. After all, a glass of milk has the amino acid you need to ensure you have a good night’s rest!
And rather than heading to bed alone at night, you should go to sleep at the same time as your loved ones. You will be surprised how much better a night’s rest you will get if you cuddle up with your partner. And pets can also be beneficial to your sleep, as long as they won’t wake you up in the night!
