GET THE GEAR
When you’re thinking about exercising out and about, it’s important you get the right gear. Once you’re comfortable with your block, you might want to start pushing yourself. Explore routes near where you live, and consider how you could grow your practice. You don’t have to go too far afield just yet. You’re still new to this, remember.
Even so, the more you extend the route, the more benefits you’ll experience. You may get to the point where you want to drive to set locations. That’s fantastic. Driving somewhere with the purpose of working out there means you’re more likely to stick with it. You’ll want to make the most of the journey by getting a full workout. Plus, you won’t be able to run home whenever you fancy. But, remember that it may take you a while to build up to that stage.
TAKE THINGS FURTHER
Once you’ve built your stamina and gained confidence working out in public, it’s time to take things further. This is where you’re on the road fitness journey will come into its own. Not only will you be getting fit, but you’ll be able to see all kinds of new sights and places. You could turn your outdoor fitness into a day out by finding new walking tracks in the towns near to you. This is a fantastic way to explore your surroundings and benefit at the same time.
And, you’ll be developing your outdoor fitness all the while. Then, take things even further. Book weekends away near the best hiking spots you can find. Or, go on a fitness holiday. There are many biking and hiking holidays on offer. The further you go, the more committed you’ll be to your efforts. When this happens, you may also find that you start seeing your exercise as a joy, rather than a chore. There’s nothing inspiring about working out at home. At best, you’ll have a view out the window. But, getting fit in the great outdoors can lead you to fantastic locations you would never find otherwise!
