Allowing your body to release the tension of the workday that it has felt all day long and do something that can stimulate your mind is vital to being able to relax. You don’t need hours of video games or TV but there’s nothing wrong with an hour to enjoy something that brings you out of the work mind.

The rat race of the workday takes up a big chunk of your week. By sitting down and taking a breath and slowing your heart rate, you can disconnect from everything around you and enjoy a little peace and quiet. This is so important for your mental wellbeing, as while you meditate you can work through any life issues in a calm way.

 If you are in a relationship, taking an hour or two to put down the electronics and enjoy time with your significant other after your workday. Physical contact with another human being can have an instant effect on our mood and our outlook so make time for a little romance. Cook together, have a long conversation about anything other than the workday.
