Growing Old And Making The Most Of Your Life
Growing old can be hard. Our bodies no longer work like they used to and we have to adjust to the changes. It can be the best time of your life and here’s how:
It’s never too late to cross things off your bucket list. Is there something you really wanted to see or do, but it just wasn’t the right time? Well, now it is! You are not too old to jump out of a plane either, so don’t give yourself excuses. Do whatever you want to do!
Surround Yourself With Good People
You are at that age now where you know who your real friends are, so don’t waste time being with people you can’t stand! Make the most of the time you have with the ones you love.
If you once thought social media was irrelevant, you may just change your mind. Things like Facebook is a great way to reconnect with old friends you once had. There is something so nostalgic about finding an old friend you knew when you were in your formative years, and then seeing them all grown up. If you’re not on Facebook, you’re missing out.
Unfortunately, we can’t run away from the inevitable, so it’s important to plan for the future.
*Write A Will
If you haven’t already made one, you should. You will want to mark down what happens to any money you have left when you’ve was gone. Do you want to split it up between the family, leave it for your other half or maybe even give it to charity? Also think about if you have any special, personal items that you may want to leave to someone (like a family heirloom.)
You may reach the point where you can no longer look after yourself as well as you once could. This is nothing to be ashamed of, it’s about time you get to put your feet up and retire without having to worry about anything – it will all be taken care of. There are all sorts of homes out there to cater to your unique needs. Anglican Care is great for people who like a pretty scenery to look at every day.
You may have started to get forgetful; don’t think immediately that you’ve got Alzheimer’s. It’s normal to have trouble remembering things the older you get – your brain is aging too! So don’t just to conclusions straight away But if you are worried, make an appointment at your Doctors.
Don’t forget, when you get into your senior years, you get the discounts! Yes, discounts offers, and money off things!
Make sure you keep some tweezers with you. Between you and me, when you get past a certain age, you start to grow hair in places you really don’t to be growing hair…
Just because you’re growing old a bit, doesn’t mean you lose your sense of humor! It is important to smile and laugh every day. This releases all the happy endorphins in your body, not only that, laughing is fun! And you’ll find yourself getting away with more than you used to know now you’re ‘all grown up.’
Growing old doesn’t need to be scary or sad. It can be the most restful and fun time of your life!
