Unusual Ways To Improve Your Confidence

confidenceConfidence Boosters That Work

Confidence isn’t something everybody is born with, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t something everybody can learn to be. The shyest person out there can learn how to be more confident if they are determined and consistent. It doesn’t matter how confident you are now, whether you just need a boost or a total overhaul in the way you feel about yourself. Sometimes, the most unusual methods of improving your confidence are the best! Here are some unusual ways to improve your confidence that are almost guaranteed to work:

Improve Your Posture

Posture is everything, and can even make a difference to the quality of life that you live as you age. If you fail to focus on your posture, you’ll no doubt experience back issues before long. That won’t be all, either! It has been proven that people who stand up straight and have great posture, feel better in themselves than those who slouch and don’t have posture as good.

So, how can you go about improving your posture? If you already struggle, then you can consider investing in a gadget or tool that reminds you to sit up straight when you start to slouch. You can even strap yourself into a piece of equipment that stops you from being able to slouch at all. If you don’t think you need to go as far as buying a gadget or piece of equipment yet, simply try to stay more mindful of times when you’re walking, standing, and sitting.

Are your shoulders pulled back? Do your spine and neck appear to be in a neutral position? You could even visit a physiotherapist to help you improve your posture with personalized advice. You have lots of options, just don’t leave it too late!

Change The Way You Think And Speak

Changing your inner world can change your outer world. The way you see yourself makes a huge difference. If you think nasty thoughts about yourself and even say them out loud, don’t be surprised if other people start to believe you.

It’s going to make you feel bad about yourself, too! As a general rule, you should speak to yourself like you would speak to a friend. You wouldn’t walk up to a friend, nitpick every little flaw, and tell her how hideous you thought they looked, would you? So don’t do it to yourself! Changing your thoughts and words can take time, especially if you’re used to putting yourself down. Just take things one step at a time and do your best. Eventually, you should notice a huge change in how you feel simply because you’ve changed the way you think!

Wear Clothes That Make You Feel More Confident

The clothes we wear can do a lot for our mindset and attitude on any given day. If you have a to-do list as long as your arm, but you throw on your comfiest outfit (think a tracksuit or something), then it’s unlikely you’ll get much done. You’ll feel more like relaxing than working on your to-do list. This doesn’t mean you have to wear your most uncomfortable outfit to get stuff done! It just means that you need to wear something that will actually make you feel like moving. Get dressed in proper clothes and get stuff done so you can own the day!

Create A Compliment Jar

Chances are, people have given you compliments. See how many you can think of, write them on separate little tabs of paper, and put them in a hand-made compliment jar. As people give you more, add them to the jar. Add nice things you think about yourself to the jar too. You could even stick compliments on your mirror so you see them every single day! It might seem weird, but reminding yourself of what other people see, and getting what you want to believe about yourself stuck into your head, should greatly help your confidence! People don’t usually give compliments out for no reason, so trust that they mean what they are saying!

The Emotional Freedom Technique

The emotional freedom technique has a few other names. It’s sometimes referred to as ‘EFT’, sometimes just ‘tapping’. It’s basically a way that you can eradicate any doubts you have about yourself, feelings of anxiety, and other negative emotions by repeating positive phrases and tapping pressure points on the body. As weird as it sounds, many people swear by this technique! Stick to it every day, doing as many rounds as you need to to feel better. This can actually change your brain in the long term and make you believe the things you’ve always wanted to believe about yourself!

Enhance Your Smile

A great smile always gives a person confidence. If you don’t like your smile very much at the moment, figure out why. Perhaps you need to make an appointment at The Dentistry Place and discuss cosmetic work that you’ve been putting off. However, professional dentistry isn’t your only option. You could start using a better toothpaste, try a technique like oil pulling, and even buy temporary veneers for a short term fix. Look into all of your option and you’re bound to find something that makes you want to show off your smile more. Smiling releases endorphins and instantly makes us feel better about ourselves!

Spend Time With People Who Exude Confidence

The more time we spend with people we want to be like, the more we become like them. It’s true! By spending time with people who act and feel the way you want to, it should rub off on you. Stop spending time with people who put themselves down, especially if it sets you off on a negative spiral of talking yourself down and feeling bad about yourself. Try and help others who feel this way if they are your close friends, but don’t let them affect the way you feel or encourage you to talk this way about yourself.

Meditate For A Few Minutes Each Day

Meditating for just a few minutes each day can make a huge improvement on just about anybody’s mindset. It can make a person more creative, calmer, and of course, more confident.
